Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) Calculator

An SSY account can be opened by the legal guardian for a girl child before she attains the age of 10. A family can open a maximum of two accounts for two different girl children.

The minimum annual deposit is ₹250, and the maximum is ₹1,50,000 in a financial year. Deposits can be made in multiples of ₹50.

SSY offers an Exempt-Exempt-Exempt (EEE) tax status. The investment amount is eligible for deduction under Section 80C, the interest earned is tax-free, and the maturity amount is also tax-free.

The account matures after 21 years from the date of opening. However, a partial withdrawal of up to 50% of the balance is allowed for the girl's higher education once she turns 18 or has passed the 10th standard. The full amount can be withdrawn at maturity or at the time of her marriage, whichever is earlier (provided she is over 18).
